Welsh wins Best Industrial Photograph in Canada

Last night at the Annual Awards Banquet of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), Melissa Welsh, a professional photographer from Victoria, BC, received The Best in Class Award for her image ‘Spray it, Don’t Say it’ in the Industrial class. SprayitDontSayit-2016The National Image Salon was judged by a panel of master photographers from across the country. Acceptance into the salon is an indication of the makers’ ability to produce outstanding images for their clientele. It also earns the maker merits toward several designations offered to PPOC members, including the prestigious Masters of Photographic Arts

Melissa operates a 1600 Sqft studio in downtown Victoria, BC serving local businesses, government and families. Her work can be found in private collections around the world as well as in regional, national and international publications. Her local client list includes: BC Transit, BC Assessment, Victoria Airport Authority and Royal MacPherson Theatre Society to name a few.

The Professional Photographers of Canada is a diversified group of creative artists dedicated to the highest standards in professional imaging. It seeks to qualify and support photographers to become industry leaders. It was formed by commercial and press photographers in Ontario in 1946 as the Commercial and Press Photographers Association of Canada (CAPPAC) and was renamed the Professional Photographers of Canada Inc (PPOC) in 1962 to reflect its nationwide membership.
