I am so excited and honoured to announce that my photograph Wishing for Wind won a national award last week!
This photograph was taken on July 1st, last summer around 7:30am. I saw the bridge and the clouds from my livingroom window and immediately grabbed my gear and jumped in my car. It wasn’t until I was driving downtown I realized I was still in my pyjamas! I stopped and did some shooting at a few locations, but eventually ended up along the walkway in front of the Prestige Hotel. My photo buzz was on as I walked closer and closer to the water. In order to get the shot, I had to climb the fence and one more step to my left, I would have been in the lake! In post production the image has some traditional dodging and burning applied – but no special effects – this is what it looked like that morning.
Technical data: Canon 5D, 70-200L 2.8 lens. Shot @ 95mm Exposure: 1/100 sec, f10, ISO 100
Thank you so much to the Professional Photographers of Canada for supporting me in my craft. My growth as a photographer has skyrocketed since I joined this organization!
