The Pixel Cents Calculator challenges the status quo with a simplified pricing method

VICTORIA, BC – November 23, 2015 – The Pixel Cents Calculator is a pricing tool for photographers that determines photo value based on size, industry averages and experience level. The calculator helps wedding and portrait photographers place a value on digital files. It also offers photographers of all genres a simplified method of placing value on photos for use in the advertising, editorial and corporate world.

“Photographers have been under-valuing their digital files for far too long” says Melissa Welsh, a professional photographer and the developer of Pixel Cents. “This app is revolutionizing the way photographers price their files and will ultimately have a very positive impact on the industry”.

Photographers can customize their license fees by adding in their own pre and post production rate. This rate can be determined by using the cost of doing business calculator found on the “Read Me” page. Users can then choose the type of photo use within the following categories; personal, corporate, advertising or editorial. In the personal use section, the photographer can choose a rate within a range based on whether they are an emerging pro, an experienced pro or a specialist. In the commercial use section, the rates suggested are based on an industry-rate-range and average from data compiled from the U.S., U.K. and Canada.

The Pixel Cents Calculator can be purchased for $4.59 CAD in iTunes and requires iOS 8.1 or later.
